Live Show Reviews
Estes Park Trail Gazette, July 29, 2005
By Janice Mason
A delightful evening of jazz filled the evening skies on Wednesday
night, when Lisa Bell played at Performance Park. Bell arrived from
Boulder with her band commenting, "this is the most fabulous place I've
ever played. Tonight is magical."
Bell told a story of an early experience in Estes Park when she was
singing in the Chapel at Cheley Camp. "Here I was in this Chapel
looking out over the valley, and someone came up to me and said, 'you
know, you can sing.' That was the beginning," she said.
Bell sang songs from her new CD, "It's All About Love," jazz standards,
and a rendition of "Favorite Things" from "The Sound of Music." The
crowd cheered and responded to Bell's crystal clear sound. And Bell
commented that the Estes Park audience at Performance Park was her best
audience. "You win the summer award for the best crowd," she said.
It is apparent that Bell likes performing and especially enjoyed the
Performance Park venue. She mentioned several times that she would like
to return to Estes Park. Those who had the pleasure of hearing Bell
perform Wednesday night are sure to welcome her back.
